Constructed in 1992 as an official US Olympic training facility, the Pettit National Ice Center features a 400-meter speed skating oval and two international-size ice rinks. Since welcoming Olympic gold medalists Bonnie Blair and Dan Jansen to be the rink's very first skaters upon its opening, the center has Played host to numerous national and international skating competitions as well as many Olympic trials. The center also features public skating and a skating school for children and adults interested in speed skating, ice hockey and figure skating. The Pettit National Ice Center is located just north of the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Milwaukee.
