Not honest or helpful

Posted by glbenn on 5/8/2009

I was in Milwaukee for a convection and had dinner at the Packing House on Saturday 5/2. I left my sunglasses at the table and called the next morning to see if they had been turned in. These were 150.00 pair of sunglasses. I was told that nothing was turned in so I asked if it was possible that an employee had not turned them in yet. The woman said a cleaning crew had cleaned and then she hung up on me. Tables are bussed immediately after a meal. I believe one of the wait staff stole the sunglasses. When I tried to inquire about them and was hung up on I couldnt believe it. I will never eat there again and cannot recommend the restaurant to anyone. They are not honest or helpful.

TWO WORDS ..... "FANTASTIC CHOICE"!

THIS PLACE IS NOT A "YOUNG UPSTART", LIKE MOST OF TODAY'S RESTAURANTS! IT WAS ONE, ORIGINALLY CALLED "DUTCH'S SUKIYAKI HOUSE", BUT TODAY'S PACKING HOUSE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT. AS THE NAME DEPICTS, PACKING HOUSE, MEANS THE PLACE IS FAMOUS FOR IT'S "GRAND CHAMPION (WISCONSIN STATE FAIR) STEER". NOT THE "GRAND CHAMPION" ALL THE TIME ...... AS SAID IN THE MOVIES "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE". BUT THE SAME QUALITY CAN BE EXPECTED OF NOT JUST ONLY BEEF, BUT VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING ON THE MENU. FROM DINING TO THE OTHER AMENITIES. ATMOSPHERE, TABLE WARE & LINEN TO EXEMPLARY SERVICE. I DON'T GET THERE AS OFTEN AS I WOULD LIKE, BUT WHEN I DO ..... WOW! SEE, HERE IN MILWAUKEE, THERE ARE SO MANY FINE PLACES TO EAT THAT ONE HAS A REPEATING PROBLEM. LIKE A COMPLEX MENU, WHAT CAN I CHOOSE FROM? TOO MANY GOOD ITEMS AND MY PALATE STARTS TO WANDER. WHERE TO GO, AND WHAT TO EAT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO NOT ONLY LOCALS, BUT THE SEASONED TRAVELER FROM OUT OF TOWN. AND "I" HAVE A PROBLEM, AS A "WANA BE" RESTAURANT CRITIC. HOW MANY TOP RESTAURANTS CAN THERE BE? JUST THE ONE'S THAT IMPRESS ME. TRY IT - I THINK YOU'LL LIKE IT!

LOVE IT!
